Onur Air Reviews 2017
Onur Air, one of the airlines of culturally rich Turkey, serves as a rite of passage for travellers seeking to begin their journey.
In our Onur Air reviews, we look into the airline’s background and history, check out their various inflight experiences, and discover what passengers think of their service.
Background and History
Onur Air, a Turkish airline headquartered at Istanbul Atatürk Airport in Yeşilköy, Istanbul, Turkey, is a low-cost airline. Most of its flights are domestic scheduled services along with a number of charters. “Fly Smart!” being Onur Air’s company slogan, the airline derives their name from the Turkish word for “proud, self esteem”: Onur.
Onur Air was founded on April 12,1992, commencing operations later that year on May 14. They were acquired by Ten Tour in 1996, with a subsidiary Zagrosjet.
As of April 2017, Onur Air’s fleet of 24 is composed wholly of Airbus aircraft flying to 38 destinations across Asia and Europe. After having had to reduce their fleet between 1998 to 1999, Onur Air continued growing their fleet since then. Teoman Tosun serves as Onur Air’s CEO. The airline currently employs 1,650 personnel, making travel possible to more than 90 million passengers since their foundation in 1992.
What Users Have to Say
The following are some Onur Air reviews: “I was nervous after reading the reviews but everything was ok. Plane was new and we arrived on time. Cabin crew were nice but they don’t speak much English. Given bread, juice and coffee for free. Great comfort for a good price,” and “For most of the flight a trolley was placed in front of the entry to the galley so the front toilet was not accessible. Other than this it was an acceptable flight. Food is for purchase only. Quality was as to be expected for paid food on a short flight. The seat comfort is good as they are quite padded compared to other airlines.”
Based on these Onur Air reviews, passengers found the experience basic and acceptable, though boarding and takeoff were “disorganised” and sometimes delayed. Other Onur Air reviews complimented the clean aircraft and friendly cabin crew. Read more Onur Air reviews, here on Airlinequality.
Their Website
Their official website is in red, blue, and white and despite looking disorganised after translation, features informative sections about the airline company and other travel information.
From the site, people can purchase the Cafeteria Onair Menu onboard to take their pick of Onur Air’s food options. The Turkish airline serves hot meals, hot and cold alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, sandwiches, sweet-salted and other snacks on their flights. Ordering food is done at least 36 hours before your flight.

I would recommend Onur Air for value for money and for serving passengers with the quality of the world’s greatest airlines.

I thought this airline was fine. Didn’t use them yet but their service looks presentable.
Thanks for the info on this review, It really helped me whether I should use Onur Air. 🙂
I will NEVER fly this airline again. I have booked with Onur Air for two separate trips. BOTH times my husband and I arrived at the airport only to find out that our flight had been cancelled several weeks before and we were NEVER informed. We confirmed with the airline that they had our correct contact information and they claim that they sent an SMS or email but we searched all of our records and there was NOTHING. Luckily, the first time we were able to jump on another flight however, this time all flights to our destination for the day are fully booked. Meaning, we have to spend additional money to get a hotel for the night and each take an unpaid day off of work. The airline has offered nothing to us except to open a complaint file, which is completely useless. Everything about what they have done these TWO times is completely unacceptable and I highly recommend not booking with them. They are a disgrace.
