Background and History
Manang Air was founded in 1997 as Manang Air Private Limited. They received their certification to operate commercial helicopters under the Regulation of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal for transportation in Nepal and its outskirts. Manang Air’s main base and hub is at Tribhuvan International Airport. The Nepali airline is headquartered in Tinkune, Kathmandu, mainly offering chartered helicopter services.
Manang Air stopped operations in 2009 after one of their helicopters MI-17 helicopter fell into an accident killing a Russian flight engineer and injuring five others on November 15, 2009, however they resumed flights in 2014.
Currently, the fleet of Manang Air is comprised of one AS 350 B3e helicopter. Destinations include Lukla, Pokhara, Bhairahawa, Simara, Kathmandu, and Sauraha.

One of the reviewers complained that Manang Air “did not assist with safety belts so we were unsecured .lucy had no earmuf[f]s so she had no commentry.then they dumped us at other end of town and lied as to why.disrespectfull cowboy pilot like an idiot without and real care for us.” However, the airline did manage to get 4.4 stars out of 5 based on a number of Manang Air reviews. Other Manang Air reviews gave them a high score, though the one we found complained about the airline’s poor customer service.

Manang Air seems to be an okay airline but as there were few Manang Air reviews, their online reputation worsened because of one person’s negative comments and experience.
