Kayak Reviews

In 2004, Orbitz established another travel search engine which was founded by
Paul English and  Steve Hafner. Initially, the travel site was known as “Travel Search Company, Inc.” in Delaware, USA. Though for unexplained reasons, in the same year, the travel company’s name was changed to “Kayak Software Corporation.”

But, when we hear the word “Kayak,” what first comes to our mind is the small narrow boat that can be paddled by one person. Kayaking has been one of the most popular activities in a water destination. Who wouldn’t want to be one with nature? From the purpose itself, Kayak said  that “KAYAK helps you navigate the complicated waters of travel planning”.

We thought that was the reason behind rebranding the travel company; apparently it’s not. One of the founders explained that there were no histories or origins as to why they came up with “Kayak.” There was no deep meaning, rather than that it sounded and looked good. To be honest, we were expecting more. Moving forward, let us see what does Kayak have to offer.

How Does Kayak Work?

Kayak Reviews-pageAs we all know, Kayak is one of the best-selling travel sites online. Their popularity has been steady. However, in the long run, Kayak had been infamous from reviews online regarding their unprocessed-yet-paid bookings. Basically, Kayak was created as a travel tool to make our booking life easier. Kayak mainly shows the option to search a destination. Services include hotel reservations, car rentals, and other travel packages. Their main page also provides a list of popular destinations to inspire travellers in booking undiscovered places around the world.

Kayak also has several more smart tools which include Price Alerts, Explore, Flex Month, and Trips. These are located at the bottom part of Kayak. These smart tools are used to customize the filtered results. Since Kayak is a part of the Priceline group, results are filtered and shared from other online  travel agencies Booking, Rentalcars, and OpenTable.

They even extended their services to a mobile application. Kayak has a travel app and it’s available in the App Store and Google Play Store.

Kayak Reviews of Customers

We are not actually surprised with the Kayak reviews shown online. Customers and other travellers had been continuously complaining about the fake deals and unprofessional services they experienced while booking with Kayak.

“Thought they were good until I realized if I were to have booked with the JustFly it would’ve been 68 dollars cheaper…wow I feel ripped off. Never again will I book on kayak.” This is just a sample of the most recent comments posted online about Kayak. To see more of the Kayak reviews, click here.

Conclusion

It has already been more than a decade but Kayak is not one of the most reliable travel companies you should be booking with. Why? Just look at those Kayak reviews we shared. Those are legit feedback from their consumers. Maybe Orbitz and Priceline are not good at keeping their products. Or, maybe Kayak is just not good at keeping their customers. Whatever is the case, Kayak’s reputation is already ruined.
