Cathay Pacific Reviews
The airline was initially known as “Roy Farrell Export-Import Co., Ltd” in January of 1946. The name originated from its founders Sydney de Kantzow and Roy Farrell, ex-airforce pilots. The Chinese airline started with flights to Manila, Bangkok, Singapore, and Shanghai. When the founders re-registered the airline, they rebranded its name to “Cathay Pacific.” The word “Cathay” is a Chinese idiom which means “grand and peaceful state,” and was said to be proposed by foreigners at the bar of Manila Hotel.
Moreover, Cathay Pacific now has a growing fleet size of 143 serving 180 international destinations worldwide. If this airline is familiar with you, it is because this Chinese airline is recognized for being one of the best air carriers in the world. Today, we’ll be fastening our seat belts and flying with Cathay Pacific.
Flying with Cathay Pacific
Cathay Pacific has four kinds of cabins on board: Economy, Premium Economy, Business, and First Class. Their cabin classes are classified to provide passengers different kinds of service inflight. The Economy Class was upgraded earlier; they added more storage space and even included inflight entertainments. Seats on Economy class can now be reclined. But, if you want a more flexible cabin, next to Economy is Premium Economy.
The most booked cabin classes are Business and First class. To give you more detailed descriptions of these cabin classes, refer to the links below:
The Website and Mobile App
The first thing we noticed as we checked on the official site is their notice about Samsung Galaxy Note 7 users. This states that all passengers using this mobile device are prohibited on all Cathay Pacific and Dragonair flights with immediate effect. This policy has been going on since October 15, 2016, not only on board, but also on baggages. This was to maintain the safety of all passengers.
Moving forward, as shown above, the web page alerts us of the news and updates within the airline. The site is versatile since it can be used as a travel guide or a booking site. Customers can also book or manage their flights on this page, while others can do the same process on their smartphones with the Cathay Pacific travel app. The mobile application is available on both App Store and Google Play Store.
